About Solaris

A thoughtful approach to movement

Solaris Pilates & Wellness Studio was created with a simple vision: to offer a space where movement feels empowering, restorative, and personal.

Away from the noise and rush of everyday life, Solaris is more than a studio — it’s a space to reset. Inspired by the sun, our name reflects warmth, energy, and renewal, and every class is guided with that same intention.

Here, Pilates is practised in small, supportive classes where you’re guided and supported as an individual. Whether it’s your first time on the reformer, a mat session to reconnect, or a tailored private class, you’ll find guidance that meets you where you are.

At Solaris, movement is intentional, restorative, and empowering — leaving you feeling lighter, stronger, and more connected.

Meet Shea

Movement and wellbeing have been at the heart of my life for more than 30 years. My journey in the health and fitness industry has taken me through many roles — teacher, coach, and lifelong student — but the common thread has always been helping people feel strong, confident, and connected in their own bodies.

Originally from Colorado, my husband and I have spent the past 25 years living between New Zealand and the United States. For the last five years, we’ve been happily settled here in New Zealand, close to our children and grandchildren. The natural beauty and gentle pace of life here have deeply shaped my approach to Pilates and wellness, reinforcing the belief that movement is not only about strength — it’s also about breath, connection, and presence.

Solaris Pilates & Wellness Studio was created from that belief: that every person deserves a calm, supportive space to move, restore, and shine from the inside out. My goal is to guide each client with care, precision, and encouragement — meeting you where you are and supporting steady, sustainable progress at your own pace.
